WHAT TO EXPECT

We welcome you to join us for any worship service of the Glendale Church of Christ. If you have not worshipped with our congregation on Sunday morning before, here is some information to familiarize you with our service.

Our style of worship is simple. Feel free to sit anywhere; there are no reserved seats. If you feel comfortable in doing so, please fill out a communication card and drop it in the offering tray (We use it for record-keeping, gathering prayer requests and to thank our guests for coming).

Singing

You'll notice that our worship in song is without instrumental accompaniment. We believe that a cappella congregational singing enhances our personal involvement in worship.

Communion

We celebrate the Lord's Supper every Sunday. Jesus established the practice of sharing the bread and the cup so Christians might remember weekly the sacrifice of his body and blood to make a new covenant with God possible for us. We leave to each person the decision to participate.

Offering

After the Lord's Supper we give the members of the church an opportunity to make a financial sacrifice to the Lord to go to supporting the work of this church.

Praying

There will be several prayers during the service. There will also be a special prayer for specific needs and requests.

Preaching

The sermon will likely be from 20 to 30 minutes. We think you will find it refreshingly Bible-centered.
