GLENDALE CHURCH OF CHRIST

COMMUNITY MINISTRY

Loving Our Neighbors, Building Community

Loving our neighbors -- three simple words that give us more work to do than can ever be done in a lifetime. There are always those in need of comfort, friendship, a hot meal, and some good news.

Building community -- we seek to create opportunities for community to form among volunteers, new friends, and through the restorative work of justice and dignity. The work of the Kingdom is about relationships.

Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings. - Isaiah 58:12
We hope you'll join us in God's redemptive work.

The following are monthly opportunities for you to serve the community. We schedule other projects and events throughout the year, as well. Need volunteer service credit for school or work? No problem. Email us and we'll let you know what's coming up in the Glendale / Burbank area.

PATH Achieve Glendale

We have connected with People Assisting The Homeless (PATH), a nonprofit that runs a temporary shelter and transitional housing program in Glendale. We cook and serve dinner at PATH Achieve once a month.

We are a partner church in PATH's Faith Matters initiative, a cross-denominational collective of the Los Angeles religious community, advocating for solutions to homelessness in our communities. We seek to be an extended family and spiritual home to the people who are courageously rebuilding their lives through PATH's programs.

Adopt-A-Block

We've adopted the neighborhood around our building through the City of Glendale's Adopt-a-Block program. On the second Saturday of each month, we pick up trash and remove graffiti. It's a good opportunity for everyone, especially families, to serve together and bless the neighborhood in a simple way.
